Time Warner Cable on Tuesday began offering three high-profile 3D movies--"Shrek Forever After," "Despicable Me" and "Alpha & Omega"--on its VOD platform.

Priced at $4.99, the 3D versions of the movies are available in the HD Movies On Demand section of the platform, alongside 2D HD versions. In addition, SD versions are available in the Movies On Demand section.

BBC Trust Releases Provisional Conclusions of Review of Syndication Policy for VOD Programming

BBC governing body, the BBC Trust, has released provisional conclusions from a review it is conducting of the corporation's syndication policy for on-demand programs. It is now seeking feedback on those provisional conclusions via a four-week public consultation that kicked off Wednesday. The Trust describes the provisional conclusions as follows:

Telstra Launches Seven Live Streaming TV Channels on Samsung and LG Connected-TV Devices

Australian telco, Telstra, has launched seven live streaming 24/7 channels from its IPTV service, BigPond TV, on connected TV's from LG Electronics and on connected TV's, Blu-ray players and home theater systems from Samsung. The channels are accessed via LG's NetCast and Samsung's Samsung Apps platforms.

Neovia to Process Payments for Sony/Disney-Owned Broadband VOD Service, FilmFlex

Payment solutions provider, Neovia Financial, says that UK-based FilmFlex will use the Neovia Payment Network to process all online payments for its recently launched broadband VOD service. Neovia has also previously announced deals with UK broadband video platforms, SeeSaw and Perform.

Comcast Marks Hispanic Heritage Month with Line-Up of Special VOD Programming

Comcast said Tuesday that it is marking Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th-October 15th) with a range of dedicated VOD programming, including movies, specials that highlight the people, landscape, cuisine, culture and music of Latin America, and features on top Hispanic/Latino entertainers. "Comcast is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and will provide more Latin On Demand content for our customers," Kim Taylor, Comcast's VP of multicultural marketing, said in a prepared statement. "Our Hispanic Heritage Month programming will be available in both English and Spanish, offering the most Hispanic content available in your home anytime."
