Connected TV Game Forum Launched

--Founder Members are Accedo Broadband, Betfair, PlayJam, RallyPoint, Two Way Media

Five companies in the interactive TV and online games/gaming space--Accedo Broadband, Betfair, PlayJam, RallyPoint and Two Way Media--announced Tuesday that they are establishing a new forum for the development of games on connected TV. The companies say that online games are a major driver in the multiplatform digital entertainment arena, attracting 38% of Internet users and generating billions of downloads via mobile and digital TV platforms, and that they believe such games will act as a "prime motivator for consumers to connect their TV's to the Internet."

Jean de FougerollesUK-based interactive television company, Two Way Media, announced Monday that CEO, Jean de Fougerolles, will be stepping down after an eight-year stint at the company. De Fougerolles, who led the company's transition from a technology to a content business and who oversaw its sale to investment company, Ingenious Media Active Capital, in 2007, will be replaced by sales director, James Turner.

Two Way Media Secures IPTV Games Deal with Penki Kontinentai

UK-based interactive media company, Two Way Media (note: the company, which was originally called Two Way TV, recently rebranded, in order, it said, to "reflect its status as a company focused on creating and distributing cross-media TV shows and games"), says it has signed a licensing deal with Penki Kontinentai, a Lithuanian IPTV operator that claims to have around 25,000 subscribers. The deal sees the operator licensing a package of Two Way Media's puzzle and strategy games--including such titles as "Buzzwords," "TacTiles," "Maze Master," "Deal With It," and "Jelly Sets"--and offering it as a new games service. The new deal is part of an ongoing push by Two Way Media to expand into markets beyond the UK.

UK-based interactive TV company, Two Way TV (note: a controlling
equity stake in the company was acquired for £5.34 million last year by
Ingenious Media Active Capital; at the time, the latter promised to
build up Two Way TV's creative and production capabilities, in order
to develop "mass participation" interactive programming for
mainstream broadcast; shortly before announcing its acquisition by
Ingenious, Two Way TV sold off its Ark interactive TV technology
platform to Virgin Media--see [itvt] Issue 7.32 Part 3), has
rebranded as Two Way Media, in order, it says, to "reflect its status as a
