SeaChange International's On Demand Group said it struck a deal with top Bulgarian telecom company M-Tel to manage its VOD services. M-Tel provides GSM mobile phone service to about 5 million subscribers, and it is expanding into fixed line Internet and entertainment service. ODG has similar agreements to manage VOD and pay-per-view services with Virgin Media in the UK, SFR in France, KBW and Unity Media in Germany, OTE in Greece, TTNet in Turkey, and du in Dubai.

Softel, a UK-based company that claims to have over 25 years of experience in providing ancillary data solutions--including solutions for interactive TV, opt cuing/ad insertion, subtitling and captioning--to leading broadcasters and service providers across the world (note: the company recently revealed that it is powering Showtime Networks' new HD EBIF application--see the article published on itvt.com, March 24th), said Tuesday that it is expanding its Swift product range for subtitling and captioning via the launch of Dashboard, a solution that is designed to manage the configuration and monitoring of an entire subtitle transcoding and transmission operation.
