Christopher Curtin, Vice President, Global New Media, Disney Parks & Resorts

Christopher Curtin has over twelve years of experience working at The Walt Disney Company, where he has been responsible for some of the company's most high-profile projects and has held a variety of senior executive positions.

Since 2005, Curtin has been a senior executive in the Parks and Resorts division of The Walt Disney Company. As Vice President, Global New Media, Curtin is responsible for directing Disney's theme parks' global marketing initiatives through new media and digital distribution channels such as video on demand, digital video recording, mobile technology, video downloading/streaming, and instant messaging. Recently, Curtin was been responsible for bringing the experience of visiting Disney resort and theme park destinations to viewers' television sets via branded original programming, and compelling them to seamlessly and instantaneously book vacations with the click of a remote control.

From 2003 until 2005, Christopher was General Manager and Vice President of The Muppet Holding Company (a division within Disney). The youngest General Manager in Disney, Christopher designed a five year strategic plan that included the roll-out of original entertainment (with appearances on a wide range of programming including Good Morning America and Saturday Night Live), revitalized consumer product and home video lines of business, and an international expansion of The Muppets franchise.

From 2000 until 2003, Christopher was Vice President, Corporate Synergy and Special Projects, at Disney, acting as special advisor to CEO Michael Eisner and coordinating the Company's marketing and cross-divisional priorities. The youngest corporate Vice President at Disney, Christopher helped ensure the successful launch of motion pictures, cable channels, themed attractions, television lineups, and consumer product lines. Christopher was responsible for special projects, such as the creation of the Disney Super Bowl (2003) commercial and holiday television specials, and worked with the parks and resorts division on multiple ABC Primetime Preview Weekends and the 100 Years of Magic celebration.

From 1995 until 2000, Mr. Curtin served as a Director of Government Relations for The Walt Disney Company in Washington, D.C., representing the company s interests in the merger of America Online and Time Warner before the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Congress. Christopher was significantly involved in supporting enactment of the Sonny Bono Copyright Act, extending the copyright term extension for intellectual property including Mickey Mouse.
