-- Network Targets Viewers in Shopping Malls
Akoo TV said it expanded the programming lineup for its out-of-home network, which is available in 165 U.S. shopping malls.
Chicago-based Akoo said Tuesday that it added "Akoo Scoop", which will focus on music and entertainment updates, and "Akoo Trivia Challenge," which will reward viewers that user their mobile phones to respond to questions. It also added "Akoo Exclusive," which will feature live performances and interviews with musicians.
Akoo distributes programming through "Akoo Pavilions," which are located mostly at the food courts at shopping malls. Each pavilion features two adjacent monitors that display video programming and advertising, including messages that prompt viewers to use mobile devices to respond to offers from advertisers.
Pavilions at some malls also offer WiFi Internet access, and let viewers download mobile coupons. Akoo boasts that it has the largest out-of-home network in the U.S.
