Augmented reality specialist metaio released a free version of its advanced development tools for iOS and Android devices. Munich-based metaio said that its software development kit already powers more than 70 applications and has generated more than 10 million downloads.
Texas Instruments, ST-Ericsson and ARM collaborated with metaio on the advanced mobile tools. The SDK includes a 3D rendering engine. metaio said it plans to release a professional version of the software which will include more customization options and support from the metaio development team.
