Exclaim Mobility Launches Snap TV to Enable Viewing and Sharing of Photos on Connected TV's

Exclaim Mobility, a Princeton, NJ-based provider of mobile photo sharing and socialization applications, on Tuesday unveiled an application called Snap TV, which it says will enable users to view and share their mobile photos easily and in high quality through their connected TV's. According to the company, the Snap TV app will be available for download in the coming weeks through the Yahoo! Connected TV platform, which is currently available on TV's from Sony, Vizio, Samsung, LG Electronics and Toshiba. The company says that it will also introduce Snap TV support for other TV application storefronts, set-top boxes and media players over the coming year. "With Snap TV, Exclaim is continuing to deliver on its promise to enable consumers to share their lives, everywhere," Exclaim Mobility CEO, Jiren Parikh, said in a prepared statement. "By leveraging connected TV's as the next step for viewing and sharing their user-generated content, we have created an exciting new service for today's connected user. By connecting Snap TV to our existing family of Snap applications for mobile and online photo and video content management, we are further expanding the most comprehensive set of offerings for managing users' digital memories."

According to Exclaim, Snap TV is the latest addition to a growing line-up of applications it offers for managing user-generated content (UGC). The company says that the app will also leverage the soon-to-be-released Snap MyLife UGC cloud portal, which it says will enable users of its Snap Mobile offering (note: the latter is the company's flagship app for photo and video sharing on feature phones and smartphones; according to the company, it offers "automatic phone backup of photos and videos to social media sites, the ability to print photos to Walgreens for pickup in an hour, access to friends' content, tweeting and check-in of photo and videos, as well as other content management functions") and of other upcoming Snap consumer electronics device applications to exchange, share and update UGC between their various devices and social media and content portals.

Exclaim bills Snap TV as allowing users to do the following:

  • Create a single TV gallery with photos from over 16 different UGC portals and social networking services.
  • Access the upcoming Snap MyLife UGC content portal, and albums created by themselves and their friends.
  • Designate "favorite" photos or albums, so that they can prioritize and quickly display their chosen content.
  • Share, manage and transfer photos to other UGC sites and social networking services.
