Clicker Launches iPhone App for its Online Video Discovery and Social TV Service

Online video content discovery specialist, Clicker Media (note: the company recently also launched a social TV service, called Clicker Social, which it bills as "allow[ing] people to discover, share, rate, discuss, and check-in to shows on Clicker and third-party partner sites"), said Tuesday that an iPhone app for its service is now available in the Apple App Store.

According to the company, the new app (a demo video of which is embedded above), allows users to:

• Search Clicker's database of online programming.
• Check-in to TV shows, movies and Web series.
• Follow their friends on Twitter and see what they are watching.
• Rate and discuss shows and movies.
• Earn show awards and badges.
• Manage their Clicker playlist.
• Filter searches by--and play--iPhone-friendly (i.e. non-Flash) videos.
• Purchase movies and TV shows through iTunes after finding them via Clicker (note: the company boasts that this is "easier than searching iTunes itself").

Clicker says that it plans to launch an iPad app in early October.
