New York-based interactive video technology provider, Qoof, last week announced the launch of its in-video advertising app platform. According to the company, the platform lets advertisers easily insert custom applications into existing video assets, and allows these in-video apps to be distributed across third-party players and multiscreen advertising platforms, including on Web sites, affiliate networks, ad networks, social media outlets and social gaming locations.
Qoof provides advertisers that use the new service with what it bills as a "vast" library of off-the-shelf apps to incorporate into their video assets, including photo viewers, customer reviews, product and pricing information, information on store availability, and in-player checkout (i.e. providing users with the ability to make a purchase without leaving the video they were watching). In addition to this line-up of standard apps, the company says, "powerful customization capabilities" expand its platform to create a "complete marketing information tool kit" that includes lead generation, survey and customer relations functionality. The company claims that the end result "can be video creative that provides a complete brand engagement or ecommerce experience within the creative itself."
According to Qoof, its platform also provides robust reporting capabilities, including detailed historical and real-time reporting, and full integration with third-party backend systems for complete analytic-based reporting. Each app is monitored and measured independently, the company says, enabling clients to place only their best-performing apps in their players. The company also says it offers a granular reporting platform that allows advertisers to easily customize and test new ads, as well as measure the effectiveness of specific elements within minutes. "As online video usage continues to grow at a rapid pace, retailers are increasingly seeking ways to quickly and easily leverage its power to enhance the shopping experience," Qoof CEO, Jonathan Stefansky, said in a prepared statement. "Until now, there hasn't been a single solution to help them distribute and monetize their video content. With the Qoof platform, they can now benefit from direct response tools through every online channel with just one simple upload."
