Comcast-owned broadband video platform provider, thePlatform, has appointed Jamie Miller as COO and CFO. The company has also promoted Marty Roberts, who has served as VP of marketing since 2007, to VP of sales and marketing.
According to thePlatform, Miller has 16 years of experience financing, building, managing and successfully exiting technology companies, and has managed nine private- and public-market M&A transactions on behalf of four companies. He was most recently president of Zango (he subsequently became its general manager after it was acquired by blinkx in April, 2009). He also spent a number of years (2000-2003) at thePlatform, after it merged with Rocketvox, where he was a co-founder, board member, COO and CFO. In addition, he served as COO, CFO and EVP of business development at Microsoft's business applications consultancy, ePartners, where, thePlatform says, he gained extensive experience in professional services consulting.
According to thePlatform CEO, Ian Blaine, Miller will oversee the company's accounting, human resources and legal departments, and will also lead its professional services organization.
