Alticast Demo's Multiple ETV/EBIF and tru2way Interactive TV Apps at NCTA Cable Show

GEM-based interactive TV software specialist, Alticast, said Tuesday that it is showing a range of ETV/EBIF and tru2way solutions in its booth (329) at the NCTA Cable Show in Los Angeles this week. According to the company, its Cable Show exhibit, which it has branded with the theme "Your World Runs on Alticast," features:

  • Twitter on TV, an ETV template which is designed to show how viewers can interact with social media on their TV using their mobile device, and which the company says facilitates live community conversations around content.
  • An ETV template that displays and manages polling and trivia campaigns.
  • AltiVBM, a tru2way viewer measurement system that collects and analyzes metrics from the set-top box, in order to help operators understand how subscribers interact with channels, VOD and PPV offerings, and interactive TV applications.
  • Qook TV, a GEM-based content navigation user interface that was developed by Alticast's Creative Services team in collaboration with Korea Telecom. Alticast bills Qook TV as an "innovative and immersive UI experience that includes Wii-style navigation."

"Alticast has been extremely busy over the last year expanding our Colorado-based engineering center, launching our new business group focused on ITV application solutions for the North American market [note: the company is headquartered in South Korea], and expansion of our product line including our new Application Solutions business," Alticast's SVP of business development, Jeff Bonin, said in a prepared statement. "The Cable Show offers the perfect venue for us to promote our technology to key decision makers in the industry."
