USA Network Launches Twitter Initiative to Provide Audiences with a View "From the Inside"

USA Network, which currently offers nine show-related Twitter feeds, on Monday announced a social media initiative that sees its VP of program research, Ted Linhart, interacting with viewers via a Twitter account (@TedOnTV).

According to the network, Linhart will use the Twitter account to provide viewers with an insider's view of USA Network and of the TV industry in general: he will "tweet about all things USA, including current hit show production, developing series and breaking news"; "report on everything from red carpet events to senior staff meetings"; and "will also tweet about the overall television landscape, including his favorite shows, awards show commentary and, naturally, ratings," USA Network says, adding that his Twitter followers will be rewarded with autographed giveaways and exclusive show memorabilia. "Being a fan of TV my whole life, I knew how fun it would be for fans to hear the kind of information you can only get from the inside, from someone who attends the meetings and hears what is really going on in the heart of the network," Linhart said in a prepared statement. "With @TedOnTV, my followers will definitely get a unique perspective from a fellow fan in a way that was never available to them before."
