Media Storm Names Jeremy Cornfeldt Managing Director/Digital

--Interactive TV-Focused Media Agency Claims to Have Grown Staff by 30% over Past Year

Strategic media agency, Media Storm (note: last fall, the company, which claims to have produced interactive TV applications for over 350 campaigns, announced the formation of a new division, called BOLT, focused solely on developing and implementing advertising campaigns that use interactive TV, addressable advertising and VOD platforms--see the article published on itvt.com, October 8th; the company was also recently selected by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as its media buying agency of record--see the article published on itvt.com, October 29th), announced last week that it has appointed Jeremy Cornfeldt to the newly created position of managing director/digital, effective immediately. The company--which claims to have hired 20 new employees over the past year, growing its headcount by over 30%--says that Cornfeldt will be responsible for client support and for managing its digital team, a task that it says "will include how digital integrates into the overall vision for the agency, process and technology enhancement." He will report to Media Storm co-founders and managing partners, Craig Woerz and Tim Williams. "We are delighted to welcome Jeremy and his expertise in the digital space to the team at Media Storm," Woerz said in a prepared statement. "This appointment reflects our commitment to further expand our new media capabilities as the agency continues to grow--increasing staff by 30% and winning key new business over the past 12 months--despite an economy that has taken a significant toll on some of our larger agency competition."

Cornfeldt served most recently as SVP/group client director at Carat New York, where he was responsible for overseeing the pet care portion of the company's P&G account. Among other things, he was responsible for leading all digital initiatives on pet care, including digital media strategy, content development and social media. Prior to his work on the P&G account, Cornfeldt was responsible for overall management of the Carat Fusion New York office and was a key member of the Carat Fusion executive leadership team, Media Storm says. His tenure at Carat also saw him working on the agency's AOL, TiVo and Motorola accounts, among others. He joined the company when its Carat Interactive arm acquired Vizium in late 2001.
