Israeli IPTV middleware and applications provider, Orca Interactive, said Monday that France Telecom has selected its Compass technology in order to implement a multi-screen content discovery and recommendations solution across all the services offered in association with its Orange IPTV platform.
According to Orca, Compass incorporates a variety of recommendations engines to provide a blend of optimized recommendations to TV, PC and mobile users. With Compass, the company claims, Orange subscribers will be able to easily discover content that is relevant to their interests, thus resulting in more customer satisfaction and higher conversion rates. It says that, since Orange offers a range of content services, being able to proactively assist customers with their purchase decisions becomes a crucial factor for increasing ARPU. According to Orca, since Compass comes pre-integrated with its RiGHTv middleware, France Telecom will benefit from "seamless integration and rich functionality." "Compass is a game-changer with respect to an operator's ability to put content in front of those who value it most and are willing to pay a premium, regardless of the context or device being used," Orca CEO, Haggai Barel, said in a prepared statement. "It is an extremely powerful blend of a customer-oriented approach towards user experience and operator-focused tools that increase the penetration of content services and help optimize the revenue per user. Working with France Telecom and the variety of content services that they offer will certainly pose a challenge and I look forward to all of our innovation and creativity being put to the test."
In related news: Earlier this month, Orca Interactive announced that Optimus Clix, the mass-market brand of Portuguese telco, Sonaecom, has also deployed Compass.
