--"Bachelor" Episodes Available on ABC.com with "Expert Commentary"
Broadcast network, ABC, contacted [itvt] Monday to let us know that ABC.com is offering an interactive "Rose Ceremony Game" that allows viewers to play along with the latest series in its long-running "The Bachelor" reality TV franchise, "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love."
According to the broadcaster, the game--which launched last night with the premiere episode of the new series--will each week invite viewers to guess which bachelorettes will receive a rose from bachelor, Jake Pavelka, on that week's episode. Players will earn points for correct picks and also by correctly answering trivia questions about the previous week's episode, ABC says, and bonus points will be awarded to players who correctly predict which bachelorette will receive the first rose of the evening, and who correctly predict the order in which the roses are handed out. The player with the highest score at the end of the season will win a grand prize consisting of a vacation for two at the Jalousie Plantation on the island of St. Lucia; and each week's top scorer will receive a special "Bachelor" gift bag.
ABC is also giving "Bachelor" fans the opportunity to watch episodes of the show on the ABC.com Full Episode Player the day after their linear-TV broadcast, complete with "Expert Commentary" (note: for more on the ABC.com Full Episode Player Expert Commentary feature--which ABC bills as providing viewers with "an opportunity to experience insights from the stars of ABC's series and specials, as well as producers, writers, directors, production and costume designers, music supervisors and network executives"--see the article published on itvt.com, November 5th). The premiere episode, which should be available today (Tuesday), will feature commentary from Jillian Harris, star of the most recent season of "The Bachelorette," and her fiance, Ed Swiderski. The second episode will feature commentary from series' host, Chris Harrison. ABC.com is also offering a photo gallery devoted to this season's 25 bachelorettes and a range of short-form "Bachelor" video content.
