Cork, Ireland-based digital TV technology provider, Digisoft, said Wednesday that it has formed a strategic partnership with Chinese media and Internet technology provider, Wotone Group, to offer complete, end-to-end service delivery solutions to IPTV, cable and hybrid operators in the Chinese market. Wotone, which was founded in 2003, focuses on Internet streaming media technology development and claims to have developed an end-to-end platform, unique services and multimedia technology that provide operators with a flexible and comprehensive solution for IPTV and cable systems.
Under the terms of the companies' partnership agreement, Wotone will offer Digisoft's DigiHost Service Delivery Platform and Java-based set-top middleware as part of an end-to-end solution. Digisoft bills its Service Delivery Platform and Java middleware as enabling service providers to rapidly launch feature-rich, revenue-generating HD services, including video and music on-demand, home shopping, PVR/timeshifted TV, games and more on a wide range of set-tops with H.264 HD and SD video. "China is a rapidly growing market which is being driven by consumers' appetite for advanced services," Digisoft executive chairman, Tom Higgins, said in a prepared statement. "Operators are actively looking for solutions that will enable them to meet customer demands and offer a rich bouquet of advanced revenue-generating services. Digisoft is delighted with our partnership with the Wotone Group which brings best-of-breed solutions delivering complete end-to-end interoperability to Chinese operators." Added Wotone Media CEO, Jacky Wang: "As the Chinese market matures, operators need to differentiate and multiply their service offering in order to increase ARPU, win new subscribers and retain their existing customer base. Digisoft brings proven and flexible solutions that will enable operators to deliver the next generation of TV and advanced services to their customers."
