--Will Use Mixpo's Xspot Format to Extend its Local Advertisers' Campaigns to the Web
Interactive online video advertising technology provider, Mixpo, will today announce a deal with TV broadcast company, Gray Television (operates 36 TV stations, 17 of which are CBS affiliates, 10 of which are NBC affiliates, eight of which are ABC affiliates, and one of which is a Fox affiliate), which it says will bring interactive online video advertising capabilities to local TV advertisers in 30 markets across the US.
According to Mixpo, Gray Television will use its platform to extend local TV spots to the Web, by providing its local advertisers with access to Mixpo's "Xspot" interactive online video display ad format, several examples of which can be seen here. The advertisers' interactive video ads will appear on Gray Television stations' Web sites. "Through the Mixpo Xspot, we're bringing a compelling online video advertising offering to our local TV advertisers in each of the 30 markets we serve," Lisa Bishop, Gray Television's VP of Internet operations and new media, said in a prepared statement. "Online video advertising through the Xspot is an opportunity that is simple for our advertisers to understand, while extending their local TV efforts to the Web complete with video, interactivity and accountability, all without new production costs." Added Mixpo president and CEO, Anupam Gupta: "Gray Television is a leader in local TV and an ideal media partner in our efforts to extend local TV advertisers' spots to the Web. The Xspot is a simple, cost-effective online video advertising capability for local TV advertisers to reach their target audiences through a cross-platform--TV and online--campaign."
