Major League Baseball, Turner Sports, Fox Team on Interactive Video Service for Baseball Postseason

--Subscription-Based "Postseason.TV" Will Let Fans Choose Between 10 Live Cameras

Major League Baseball Advanced Media announced Tuesday that Postseason.TV, a live interactive broadband video service delivered by its MLB.com division, in partnership with Turner Sports and Fox Sports (i.e. the two broadcasters that hold the US national TV rights to the Major League Baseball postseason), will launch today (Wednesday), when the Division Series begins airing on TBS.

According to the partners, the subscription-based service--which will charge a one-time fee of $9.95 and which will be accessible from MLB.com, FoxSports.com on MSN, and MLB.com/TBSHotCorner--will allow users to customize their online viewing experience by selecting from up to 10 different stationary camera angles from every MLB postseason game (including games from the Division Series and the National League Championship Series, which will be broadcast on TBS; and from the American League Championship Series and the World Series, which will be broadcast on Fox), and will not be subject to blackouts. Subscribers to Postseason.TV will be able to choose between watching just one of the available camera angles at a time, or watching up to four simultaneously via a multi-view option, the partners say; and, in addition, feeds from TBS HotCorner and Fox will provide access to in-game video highlights, real-time statistics, and play-by-play and social media integration through a live Twitter feed. Customers of the MLB.com At Bat 2009 iPhone/iPod touch application will be able to access the new service's 10 live camera angles and its four-in-one multi-view option at no additional cost.
