--NBC.com Streaming Full Episodes of "Saturday Night Live" Immediately after Broadcast
CBS Interactive last week announced the launch of two new, conceptually similar, interactive broadband video series: "TV in a Flash" for TV.com, and "Sports in a Flash" for CBSSports.com. Each show is a two-minute online wrap-up that offers short content clips in order to provide viewers with updates on the latest news in TV and sports respectively. They were jointly developed by CBS Interactive, sponsor AT&T, and the latter's media agency, Mediaedge: cia. According to CBS Interactive, they will both have various interactive/social media features, including weekly polls, Facebook fan pages, Twitter feeds, and (at least in the case of "TV in a Flash") "Twitter engagement challenges" to encourage audience interaction. "TV in a Flash" will be available weekly and "Sports in a Flash" daily. "Both of our 'In a Flash' series are a great way for television and sports fans to quickly get up to speed with fresh, original content from the experts," Dave Morris, CBS Interactive's chief client officer, said in a prepared statement. "This series is a great example of how CBS Interactive can work with a client to create original content that resonates with our diverse communities."
In related news: NBC has begun streaming full episodes of the current season of its weekly comedy show, "Saturday Night Live," on NBC.com immediately after their linear broadcast. Other current shows that are now streaming on NBC.com include "30 Rock," "The Biggest Loser," "Chuck," "Community," "Days of our Lives," "Heroes," "The Jay Leno Show," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "Mercy," "The Office," "Parks and Recreation," "SNL Weekend Update Thursday," "Southland," "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien," and "Trauma."
