Kyte Launches LivePro Add-On, Enabling HD Live Streaming
Broadband and mobile video platform provider, Kyte, contacted [itvt] Tuesday to let us know that it has launched a new solution, called Kyte LivePro, which it says brings high-definition (1080p), professional-grade live streaming functionality to its platform. According to the company, Kyte LivePro, which is designed to be used in conjunction with Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder, is an add-on component for the Kyte platform that enables publishers to deliver HD live streaming video from multiple sources, including digital video cameras and professional mixing consoles. The company says that the Kyte LivePro-Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder combo ensures secure live encoding with standard HD compression and localized digital video archiving. As with all Kyte-produced video content, the company says, live streams are automatically broadcast directly to the Kyte player and archived for online or mobile on-demand viewing.
Kyte says that LivePro incorporates the company's "engagement features," enhancing live broadcasts with 1) social media tools, so that viewers can share content via Twitter, Facebook and other services, and 2) chat functionality, enabling real-time interactivity. The new platform also incorporates the company's monetization capabilities, it says, allowing the integration of in-stream advertising directly into a live broadcast.
According to Kyte, LivePro will be used by TV Guide next Sunday to provide live streaming coverage of the Primetime Emmys Red Carpet pre-show.
