VOD technology provider, Concurrent, said Wednesday that Portuguese cable operator, ZON TV Cabo (which has around 1.5 million subscribers), plans to deploy its media data management solutions and operational reporting services. Concurrent says that it will provide the operator with a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for monitoring video usage, as well as census-level media data management and operational analytics, which are key components of its Media Data and Advertising Solutions (MDAS).
Because Concurrent's MDAS portfolio provides comprehensive media data management and real-time operational reporting, the company claims, ZON will receive a clear, detailed picture of the subscriber experience, allowing it to "provide the content [its] customers want with a superior level of service." Concurrent says that the solution will allow ZON to tailor its service offerings to meet customer preferences and add further personalization through advanced advertising, and thereby attract and retain subscribers while increasing service usage and per-subscriber revenue. The solution, which is operated as a managed service, features scorecards, dashboards and reports maintained by Concurrent. "As our subscriber base grows, we will benefit tremendously from Concurrent's ability to concisely manage video usage data at the subscriber level," ZON TV Cabo board member, Andre Almeida, said in a prepared statement. "Concurrent's media data solutions give us a comprehensive view of linear, video-on-demand, and interactive media consumption for the television today with mobile and computer screens in the future, which allows us to provide a competitive and differentiated high-quality experience to our customers." Added Concurrent's VP and general manager of MDAS, Paul Haddad: "Concurrent's goal is to expand our MDAS services globally and partner with leading operators who have invested significant capital resources in video-on-demand. Our managed services approach will enable TV Cabo to quickly and effectively measure service performance, subscriber experience, activity rate and capacity management across their enterprise and market levels."
