KidZui Launches Broadband Video Site for Children, ZuiTube.com

--Site Features Around 60,000 Videos, Reviewed and Curated by Team of Parents and Teachers

KidZui, a company that offers a "safe" Web browser for children, has launched a YouTube-powered broadband video site, called ZuiTube.com. According to the company, the site--which is free and appears to carry no advertising (Kidzui generates revenue by, among other things, selling memberships that add various features to its flagship browser)--offers an intuitive user interface specially designed for children, and a library of nearly 60,000 "parent and teacher approved" YouTube-sourced videos, which it claims is the largest catalog of child-appropriate videos available online. Other features touted by the company include a "Play All" mode that allows children to watch all videos within a specific channel without interruption; an "auto complete" search feature with smart-type that optimizes results based on popularity (or "Kid Rank"); and user-generated video channels. "Parents are seeing an increased demand for the YouTube experience among their young kids and ZuiTube.com provides that in a trusted environment," KidZui CEO, Cliff Boro, said in a prepared statement. "Ultimately, KidZui is dedicated to bringing families closer together and fostering early-stage development in young children through an independent online experience--and through ZuiTube.com we're providing another powerful reinforcement of that mission."

According to KidZui, ZuiTube.com's video line-up will grow daily, with content served through the company's YouTube developer's license. In its promotional materials for the new service, the company stresses that "ZuiTube.com is powered by YouTube, but is not affiliated with YouTube or Google." The company says that the site's videos are reviewed and curated by a 200-strong editorial team of parents and teachers.
