Concurrent, Clearleap Integrate Technologies to Provide "Comprehensive View" of Subscriber Experience

--Say Joint Solution Will Enable Operators to Offer Addressable Advertising, "Intelligent Interactivity"

VOD technology provider, Concurrent, and Clearleap, a company which offers a content-acquisition, delivery, management and distribution platform that brings broadband video and other Internet-sourced content to television sets, including sets equipped with low-resource legacy cable set-top boxes (note: the company recently announced that cable operator, Atlantic Broadband, is deploying its platform--see the article published on itvt.com, June 30th; its most prominent competitor is ActiveVideo Networks, which is currently deploying its platform with Cablevision--see the article published on itvt.com, June 24th), announced an integration partnership, Wednesday.

According to the companies, the partnership sees them integrating Concurrent's Media Data and Advertising Solutions (MDAS--formerly branded as Everstream) with Clearleap's network-based media management and distribution platform to offer a joint solution that they say will provide a "comprehensive end-to-end view of the subscriber experience." They are billing the hosted solution as enabling TV service providers to gain near real-time visibility into user consumption through an integrated Web-based management interface that aggregates and processes rich data from a combination of the companies' respective interfaces. They claim that the partnership will also allow TV service providers using the Clearleap platform to monetize their video offerings through addressable advertising. "Concurrent's partnership with Clearleap is another step in executing on our strategy," Paul Haddad, Concurrent's VP and general manager for MDAS, said in a prepared statement. "The combination of Concurrent's and Clearleap's expertise and solutions provides the industry with a unique and fully integrated video solution supporting a wide array of content distribution, interactivity, cross-services data collection and correlation and advanced advertising within the video services." Added Clearleap CEO, Braxton Jarratt: "Clearleap utilizes best-of-breed technologies to allow television service providers to quickly and easily deploy powerful new content and services to their subscribers. By integrating our network-based platform with Concurrent's widely deployed media data infrastructure, we are able to offer a packaged turn-key solution that provides better monetization, access to significantly more content and around-the-clock visibility."

According to Concurrent, its MDAS solutions will enable Clearleap to offer its customers a "360-degree view" of their operations, subscriber usage, content consumption and advertising effectiveness, "thus enabling true interactivity and addressability to commercialize video." Concurrent claims that, by collecting, aggregating and correlating very complex sets of cross-services data from multiple systems and sources, its MDAS solutions enable "intelligent interactivity" across television, Web and mobile networks.
