Justin.tv Launches App to Enable Live Broadcasting to Facebook

In a posting on its corporate blog Wednesday, Justin.tv, a San Francisco-based company that bills itself as "the largest online community for people to broadcast, watch and interact around live video," announced the launch of a new Facebook app, called Live by Justin.tv, that allows users of its live streaming video service to broadcast on the social networking platform as well as watch other users' live streams.

According to the company, the app--which is integrated with Facebook's recently launched Live Stream Box app (note: for more on the latter, which enables interaction around live streaming video, see the article posted on itvt.com, June 25th)--is free, requires no sign-up approval process, and requires users to have just a Web cam and an Internet connection. The company also says that users can now add a Live tab to their Facebook page, in order to make it easier for visitors to the page to find it: "Adding a Live tab to your profile is the same as adding any other application," Justin.tv explained in its blog post. "Click the "+" tab and select Live. To add a Live tab to your Facebook page, you'll need to install the app first," the company added
