--Deadline for Entries is August 15th
AFDESI, the French Association for Interactive Television, contacted [itvt] Thursday to let us know that it has launched its seventh annual international interactive TV competition, the International ITV Awards 2009. The competition will culminate in an awards ceremony, during the IBC, at Amsterdam's Hotel Okura on the evening of September 13th. Awards will recognize excellence in 10 categories:
- The Jury "Grand Prix"
- The AFDESI Prize
- Interactive TV applications for the set-top box
- Mobile interactive TV applications
- Innovation and technology
- Design and graphics
- Advertising, tcommerce and services
- Entertainment and games
- Betting and gambling
- News and information.
According to AFDESI, winners will receive a trophy designed by Stack. The organization says that the awards are open to any company (including operators, broadcasters, developers and publishers) that was involved in a live interactive TV service during 2008/09 (through June, 2009), or that was involved in the production of a concept. It stresses that the competition has grown to incorporate all the various forms of interactive TV, including set-top applications, IVR-driven participation TV services, mobile TV apps and more. Companies interested in entering the International ITV Awards 2009 can register on the AFDESI Web site, www.afdesi.org: the deadline for submitting an entry is August 15th.
