Wrestling promoter, Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling, announced Thursday that it has launched an online video-on-demand service, called TNA Video Vault, that offers coverage of TNA pay-per-view events and specialty features (200 hours of programming in all), and that will soon offer exclusive, original programming. "TNA Video Vault is a ground-breaking product for a home video studio, a cornerstone in our commitment to digital distribution, and an incredible destination for fans of pro wrestling," Steve Allison, chief marketing officer of TNA Wrestling's parent, TNA Entertainment, said in a prepared statement. "Every program we've ever created for DVD is right here on-demand along with every pay-per-view event we've aired since 2004. Limited shelf space at retail has meant limited choices for our fans. TNA Video Vault is a destination with unlimited shelf space and unlimited choices."
The new VOD service offers TNA home video titles on a pay-per-view basis for $3.99 each. However, wrestling fans also have the option of paying $7.99 per month or $49.99 per year for unlimited access to the service's library. Going forward, TNA says, most TNA Home Video DVD retail releases will launch simultaneously on TNA Video Vault; and plans are in place to add monthly exclusive programming and digital-only productions, just for subscribers.
