"Gossip Girl" Creator, Alloy Entertainment, Inviting Fans to Audition for Role in New Internet TV Show

--Show is Based on the "Private" Novel Series

Alloy Entertainment, a media company that specializes in novels and other content targeted at teenagers and young adults (note: among other things, the company created the series, "Gossip Girl," and the movie, "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"), is inviting female fans to audition for a role in a new broadband video series based on author Kate Brian's "Private" series of young adult-targeted novels (note: the 21-part broadband video series, which is scheduled to debut in August, will be offered on the Teen.com Web site of Alloy Entertainment's parent company, Alloy Media + Marketing).

Visitors to Teen.com are being invited to film themselves performing one of three 60-second monologues for a female character called Kiran, and to then upload the video of their performance. A panel of judges will select three "grand prize" winners (note: 15 "fan favorites" will also be chosen by visitors to the site, and will receive minor prizes), one of whom will be chosen to play the Kiran role in the show. The process whereby the overall winner is selected from the three finalists will itself be the subject of a six-episode online reality TV series that will debut on Teen.com in July.
