Virgin Records UK has tapped UK-based Product Magnet and its "tracking pixel" technology to create an interactive music video for "We Are The People," the new single from the Australian neo-psychedelic band, Empire of the Sun. The video, which can be viewed here (http://www.empireofthesunsound.com/wearethepeople) on the band's Web site, invites visitors to the site to click on yellow "sun orbs" to "unlock exclusive hidden content and competitions." It also invites them t o roll their cursor over the screen, in order to reveal red "sun orbs" which provide four pieces of code that are needed in order to enter a competition to win signed artwork. "The ability to make any pixel within a video the gateway to other destinations or content opens up plenty of potential for the traditional promotional video," Virgin Records UK's digital media manager, Justin Cross, said in a prepared statement.
