Music Choice Trumpets Success of "ShowOff" Interactive TV Offering

Multiplatform music programmer, Music Choice, said Tuesday that its ShowOff interactive TV offering has garnered nearly 4 million text and photo submissions since launching last year (according to a study by Atrinsic) and is drawing a daily combined unique audience of nearly 8 million (according to a study by OTX Research).

The offering, which is now available on an expanded line-up of Music Choice channels (MC MixTape, Rock, Hit List, Today's Country, Musica Urbana, and Hip-Hop and R&B), consists of interactive programming blocks that air on weekday afternoons and evenings: viewers who tune into the participating Music Choice channels between 3:00PM and 10:00PM Eastern, Mondays through Fridays, are invited to use their mobile phones, email, AOL Instant Messager or a dedicated "ShowOff" Web page to send in photo and text shout-outs (dubbed "ShowOffs") for broadcast over those channels' music programming. "The success of ShowOff highlights Music Choice's leadership position in interactive programming for television," Damon Williams, Music Choice's VP of programming and production, said in a prepared statement. "To see viewers gravitate to this new product so quickly fuels our desire to change the way consumers watch TV."
