Charter Says it is Adding NBC Primetime Programming to its VOD Service

US cable MSO, Charter Communications (note: the company recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but says that its operations will be unaffected), announced Monday that it is adding a number of NBC primetime shows--including "30 Rock," "Heroes," "The Office," "Law and Order SVU," "Celebrity Apprentice," "Friday Night Lights" and "The Biggest Loser"--to its VOD line-up. According to the company, NBC primetime programming will be available free-of-charge to all its VOD-enabled customers by the end of the month: most shows will appear on the service within 12 hours of their original broadcast, Charter says, and will be available for varying lengths of time. "We know our customers lead busy lives, so the convenience and ease of NBC on Charter On Demand adds even more value to our video service," Maria Rothschild, Charter's senior director of video product management, said in a prepared statement. "This free addition to our On Demand programming is part of Charter's ongoing commitment to bring our customers what they want in television, when they want it, and how they want it." Charter's on-demand NBC programming line-up will be accessed via the "Primetime Free" folder on its VOD menu.
