--Unlike "Project Runway," Show's Winner will be Chosen by Viewers
NBC-owned Bravo says that it has picked up a new fashion design competition series, in which the winner will be chosen by viewers. The show, which has the working title, "The Fashion Show," is presumably intended to be a replacement for the popular reality series, "Project Runway," which has been poached by Lifetime (note, however, that whether or not "Project Runway" airs on Lifetime is the subject of an ongoing legal dispute). However, in the latter show, the winner is chosen by a panel of judges, rather than via interactive TV. The new show is produced by 3 Ball Productions, the company behind "The Biggest Loser" and "Beauty and the Geek." It recently held casting calls in Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago and New York City.
In other Bravo Media news: The company says that its Bravo Digital online properties saw a 195% year-over-year increase in video streams in October (3.3 million vs. 1.1 million), with its BravoTV.com Web site achieving a 201% increase (3.1 million vs. 1 million).
