UK-based interactive media company, Two Way Media (note: the company, which was originally called Two Way TV, recently rebranded, in order, it said, to "reflect its status as a company focused on creating and distributing cross-media TV shows and games"), says it has signed a licensing deal with Penki Kontinentai, a Lithuanian IPTV operator that claims to have around 25,000 subscribers. The deal sees the operator licensing a package of Two Way Media's puzzle and strategy games--including such titles as "Buzzwords," "TacTiles," "Maze Master," "Deal With It," and "Jelly Sets"--and offering it as a new games service. The new deal is part of an ongoing push by Two Way Media to expand into markets beyond the UK. "We are making an aggressive drive into developing markets outside the UK, recently announcing a game show deal with the Latin American mobile content and SMS specialist, NetPeople, and now an IPTV games deal in Lithuania," James Turner, Two Way Media's sales director, said in a prepared statement. "This is a great opportunity for us to break into a completely new market, and for Penki to offer their IPTV audience a fun and compelling games package with universal appeal. We are looking forward to announcing more IPTV games deals later this year." (Note: for more on Two Way Media's recent deal with NetPeople, see [itvt] Issue 8.06 Part 3B.)
