Thomson Selects Digital Keystone's PODware Stack for its tru2way STB's

Digital Keystone, a company that offers software for a range of digital entertainment devices, including set-top boxes, digital TV's, PC's and game consoles, says that Thomson has chosen its PODware software stack for its tru2way set-tops. According to Digital Keystone, PODware is a CableLabs-certified software stack which implements all OpenCable interfaces and security components, and which is built on a hardware abstraction layer, thus providing a highly portable solution that can be quickly integrated and deployed in a variety of platform configurations. The company also bills it as having a small-footprint implementation that is optimized for production testing and serializing through the industry-standard QPNX Pro factory toolsuite. "Digital Keystone brings us a solid expertise in CableCARDs," Pascal Portelli, VP of North American cable for Thomson, said in a prepared statement. "We are currently focusing our collaboration on the DCI9220, Thomson's tru2way HD set-top box, which supports MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 and is tailored for the North American market."
