ScreenShot Gallery Sky News ActiveBSkyB released a new version of their Sky News Active application to highlight the election on June 7, 2001. This application allows the viewer to access news-on-demand through 4 small video clips arranged in a squared formation in the video window. Each video clip ("Headlines", "Weather", "ShowBiz", and other categories) runs concurrently with the others, but repeates every few minutes or so until producers refresh the video feed. Other news components on demand include text news highlights you can select under "Top Stories", voting in opinion polls (you need a backchannel to vote), and scrolling headlines below. The new voting application (last 2 images below) develops the depth of the application.
