Event: Emmy's ITV Award Kick Off 2002
Date: Thursday, March 14, 2002

Over 100 people gathered at The Firm, a restaurant/bar in Beverly Hills, Calif., to publicly launch the first ITV award-for "Outstanding Achievement Interactive Television Programming"-to be given out by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS) as part of its annual Emmy program. As [itvt] recently reported (See [itvt] Issue 4.29), the new award was initiated by members of the Academy's Interactive Media Peer Group (created in 2000), which is comprised of ITV players from around the US. The evening's hosts were 2 people who played a major role in pushing for the award: Chris Swain of Spiderdance and Brian Seth Hurst of The Opportunity Management Company.

Chris Swain of Spiderdance (co-founder of the award) welcomes people to the event alongside Ken Papagan of Del Mar Media and Susan Bukowski, screenwriter.

Brian Seth Hurst, another co-founder of the award, always happy to see everyone.
