ScreenShot GalleryQUICKSCAN is the project of one man named George Van Valkenburg - an American living in Mangonui, New Zealand. A patented methodology, QUICKSCAN enables a broadcaster to index video fields and frames (similar to SMPTE time code). Once indexed, this data is sent as a normal analog or digital television signal. When user wants to retrieve this indexed electronic magazine, they capture it on their regular VCR or digital video recorder and record it. When finished the viewer will have an indexed video and still magazine-like presentation they can shuttle through with their remote control. At will, the viewer can locate a number which refers to a specific frame or video portion and read or play it. Note: blue frames (below) are still frames and green strip pages showcase video. Producer : George Van Valkenburg Platform: TV set and video tape machine Deployed: Dow Jones & Co. and the Rupert Murdoch Organization are major licensees, although it is not yet in commercial service.
