All in a Day's Work

NTN Communications is a leading interactive television network operator for hospitality venues and an Internet content provider. This year marks the 16th season of bringing QB1 to hundreds of thousands of avid football fans.

QB1, the popular football strategy game, is produced by NTN Communications, Inc in Carlsbad CA. Licensed by the National Football League, QB1 allows armchair quarterbacks across North America to interact with live college and pro football telecasts by challenging participants to predict the next play in the game. Before the snap of the ball, participants predict whether the next play will be a run or a pass. More experienced players may choose to make a more detailed prediction that could include distance of a pass or direction of a run. Predictions are cut off when the ball is snapped, and QB1 referees determine the type of play. Within seconds, players across multiple platforms receive the official playcall and their updated score.

More than 17 million football fans play QB1 in thousands of restaurants, sports bars and taverns all across the country, at home at www.QB1.com, on America Online (keyword: QB1) and the GTE mainStreet interactive cable television service.

For exciting behind-the-scenes action, NTN would like to present "A Day in the Life of QB1".

Bi-weekly QB1 planning sessions at NTN's corporate headquarters in Carlsbad, CA ensure that all aspects of gameplay are up and ready for the onslaught of football fans. From customer service to operations, any last minute issues are dealt with in these planning meetings to guarantee the highest level of player experience.

The production staff at NTN Communications completes last minute preparations for QB1 games. Because NTN produces QB1 for every NFL game and all nationally broadcast college football games, at least 11 live QB1 games could be broadcast simultaneously from the NTN Broadcast Center.

Pre-game preparations are through, and the NTN Broadcast Center is ready for the coin toss.

A QB1 Producer and QB1 Playcaller watch the game together and make the calls that are quickly broadcast by NTN to thousands of hospitality establishments and homes across the country.

The live QB1 competitions are monitored by the NTN production crew to ensure the smooth flow of the game.

Madness abounds mid-game with the NTN production crew rushing to broadcast calls for multiple games on five different platforms - NTN's two interactive television networks, plus QB1.com, America Online and the GTE mainStreet interactive cable television service.

Avid football fans can now predict the play live on the Internet, all season long, with the premiere of QB1 on nfl.com. QB1.com, NTN's enhanced play-along site, is highlighted and linked from the front screen of nfl.com.

NTN's newest network, Digital Interactive TV, allows QB1 players to have full motion video and more robust graphics when playing in any one of thousands of NTN restaurants, sport bars and taverns.
