(Note: the Los Angeles-based Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is one of two organizations behind the US television industry's annual Emmy Awards--the other is the New York-based National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

AFDESI, the French professional organization for interactive television, has elected a new board that will serve for the next two years. The new board is comprised of:

--Regis Saint Girons (president) of OpenTV Europe
--Bachir Ghalayini (VP of events) of Newscreens
--Jean-Christophe Jubin (VP of international relations) of HTTV
--Pierre Marchal (VP of mobile TV) of Qualcomm
--Frederic Tapissier (VP of technologies) of NDS
--Laurant Weill (VP of relations with institutions and the US) of Visiware.
