[itvt]'s daily news coverage went on hiatus October 18th in order to allow our editorial staff to work full time on TVOT NYC Intensive. This issue contains a round-up of some of the major interactive TV-related news stories that have broken since then. Due to the volume of news we are covering in this issue, our summaries of each item are somewhat more abbreviated than usual (note: extensive background information on most of the companies and technologies covered in this issue can be found by using itvt.com's search functionality). Since February 3rd, [itvt] Daily News has been on hiatus, while the [itvt] editorial team produced the TV of Tomorrow Show 2010--and then took a few days off to recover. This is the eighth of eight round-up articles, in which we are covering some of the more significant developments in the multiplatform/interactive TV space that took place during our hiatus:

Cox Upgrades its VOD Service's On-Screen Interface

--Gravitas Secures New VOD Distribution Deals, ZillionTV in VOD Deal with MLB.com

The US's third-largest cable MSO, Cox Communications, announced Wednesday that it has upgraded the on-screen interface of its VOD service, Cox On DEMAND. According to the company, the new interface provides faster and simpler navigation and is available immediately across its digital cable footprint. "Our goal with this upgrade is to provide customers with an even more attractive, fast and intuitive On DEMAND experience," Chris Pantoya, Cox's VP of marketing, said in a prepared statement. "The features make navigation easy, particularly since there is much more programming to see."
