DirecTV, Bloomberg Stream Live Video through iPad Apps

DirecTV and Bloomberg Television launched upgrades to their free apps for Apple's iPad which allow users to watch live video on the mobile devices. 

AT&T Deploys Wireless Set-top from Cisco

Cisco is supplying a new wireless set-top to AT&T for its U-verse TV subscribers that is designed to be installed in rooms that don't have coaxial cable outlets. 

The ISB7005 wireless set-top, which is part of Cisco's Videoscape portfolio, receives WiFi signals delivered from its VEN401 Wireless Access Point. "With this new technology, you can watch TV in virtually any room in the home, even rooms not wired for TV -- like the kitchen, basement or indoor garage," Cisco said in Tuesday's announcement.

CHICAGO - [itvt] at NCTA – Broadband wireless services won't topple cable, top industry executives said here Thursday. Instead, cable is poised to profit by delivering content to mobile devices connected to its broadband infrastructure via WiFi connections, Comcast CEO Brian Roberts said at the closing general session at The Cable Show.
