Since February 3rd, [itvt] Daily News has been on hiatus, while the [itvt] editorial team produced the TV of Tomorrow Show 2010--and then took a few days off to recover. Vizimo, a UK company which recently launched a service that it bills as enabling consumers to discover broadcast and on-demand programming that is relevant to their individual tastes, manage their programming choices, and discuss programming with other users (note: for more on the company and its service, see the article published on itvt.com, September 29th), and the UK's Press Association, which--in addition to its journalistic activities--claims to "maintain the most comprehensive database of TV and radio listings available in the UK," announced Monday that they have signed a technology partnership to create a new range of VOD discovery serv

Vizimo Acquires TIOTI

Launches Programming-Guidance App for iPhone, ipod touch

Vizimo, a UK-based developer of "next-generation" guidance technologies, has acquired the broadband video/TV social networking site, TIOTI (an acronym for "Tape It Off The Internet"). The company says it plans to use TIOTI as a "show window" in which to test and showcase new functionality and tools that tie together TV, the Web and mobile devices.

Vizimo Launches Programming-Discovery Service for Mobiles

A UK-based company called Vizimo has launched a service that it says
enables consumers to discover broadcast and on-demand programming
that is relevant to their individual tastes, manage their programming
choices, and discuss programming with other users.
The service is
available in the UK on around 200 mobile phone models, the company
says, and will be extended to other countries and handsets later this
year. According to Vizimo, its service uses automated content analysis,
profiling and social networking to guide users to relevant TV
programming, and also provides tools for scheduling recordings and
reminders, and for chatting about content. It says the tools work in a
