Capablue Teams with Brightcove, TV Genius on Customizable Video Platform for Connected TV's

--Scottish Broadcaster STV Said to Be Close to Deal to Deploy the Platform

UK-based Web-TV convergence agency, Capablue (note: the company previously worked on the BBC iPlayer and on Project Kangaroo, the now-defunct project that subsequently became the technological core of broadcast transmission company Arqiva's new broadband VOD service, SeeSaw), says that it has partnered with online video platform provider, Brightcove, and TV search and recommendations specialist, TV Genius, to implement "Connected," an offering that it bills as a fully customizable portal platform, designed for the rapid development and deployment of VOD and live-streaming services to connected TV's and other OTT devices.

TV Genius Powers Recommendations for UK Broadcaster ITV's New Facebook App

Video search specialist, TV Genius, announced last week that UK commercial terrestrial broadcaster, ITV, has selected its Content Discovery Platform to power a personalized recommendation feature on a new ITV Player app for Facebook. According to the company, the app, which is called "ITV Favourites" and which is available now, will "promote Christmas and New Year scheduling, as well as into 2010," through recommendations of content available via the ITV Player online catch-up service; and will also remind users of upcoming shows that might be of interest to them.
