Bravo (UK), Travel Channel (US) Announce Plans for Interactive TV Shows

--Bravo's Show Devoted to Video Gaming, Travel's to Ghost Hunting

Bravo (UK), a Virgin Media Television-owned channel, which, in contrast to its US namesake, targets a young, male demographic, announced Monday that it has signed a year-long acquisition deal with independent production company, Ginx TV, that will see it airing "GameFace"--which it describes as a weekly "mainstream video gaming series dedicated to interactive entertainment"--later this summer.

Cablevision Said to Be in Talks to Offer Interactive TV Travel-Booking Service

--Cablevision Now Offering HD VOD Titles from Starz Entertainment
--Hopes to Launch RS-DVR Service this Summer

According to a report in Bloomberg news, New York-area cable MSO, Cablevision, is in negotiations to offer an interactive TV travel service on its iO TV digital cable platform that would allow viewers to book flights, hotels and vacation packages through their television sets. John Pasmore, president of Voyages North America, one of the companies reportedly in talks with Cablevision about launching the new service (note: Voyages North America recently began offering travel videos on Cablevision's VOD platform), told the news organization that the service would resemble Internet-based travel-booking services such as Expedia and Orbitz.
