Metrological, 2L Alliance, Prodrive, Softkinetic, Optrima to Demo Gesture-Driven Hybrid TV at IBC

Metrological Media Innovations said Tuesday that it is collaborating with its partners 2L Alliance, Prodrive, Softkinetic and Optrima to launch "a new and unique Internet-enabled television experience" at the IBC in Amsterdam next month (The Connected World, Hall 9, Booth IP361-364 and IP461, 462-464).

TransGaming to Integrate its Games Platform with Metrological's Hybrid Interactive TV Platform

Toronto-based multiplatform games company, TransGaming, and Rotterdam-based hybrid TV specialist, Metrological, said Wednesday that they have formed a partnership that will see them deploying TransGaming's GameTreeTV games platform to cable operators and managed service operators via Metrological's Mediaconnect TV platform. According to the companies--which say that they are currently working to integrate their respective platforms--their partnership means that Metrological's customers will be able to offer video games to their subscribers as part of a fully integrated digital entertainment solution.

Widevine DRM and Video Optimization Tech Incorporated into Metrological's Mediaconnect TV

DRM and video optimization solutions provider, Widevine, said Monday that its adaptive streaming, virtual DVD/Blu-ray features and DRM technologies are being integrated with Metrological Media's Metroconnect operating system for use on Metrological's new hybrid/OTT device, Mediaconnect TV, in order to ensure that "subscribers enjoy highest-quality, over-the-top video content" on the device.

Miniweb, Metrological in Technology Integration Partnership

--Seek to Enable Converged Broadband and Broadcast Services on Intel CE 3100-Powered Devices

London, UK-based interactive TV company, Miniweb (note: last September, the company--which is best known for offering an interactive TV alternative to the red button on the Sky satellite-TV platform--announced that it had raised $32 million in venture funding--see [itvt] Issue 8.06 Part 1), said Monday that it has teamed with Metrological Media Innovations, a provider of middleware and reference designs based on the Intel Media Processor CE 3100 (note: the company is part of the Intel Consumer Electronics Network), to integrate its Miniweb services platform with the latter's Metrological Metroconnect OS.
