Dreampark Provides Frontend TV Middleware Solution to Finland's Maxisat

--Solution Billed as Letting Operators Deploy Advanced UI, without Swapping out Existing Infrastructure

Swedish middleware (cable, terrestrial, IPTV) provider, Dreampark, said Wednesday that it has supplied a frontend middleware solution to Finnish pay-TV operator, Maxisat. According to the company, Maxisat is the first Finnish operator to offer TV and OTT services using a scalable vector graphics (SVG) client, allowing for high-definition user interfaces. The frontend solution delivered by Dreampark is based on the company's Dreamgallery Next Generation platform which is based on SVG and which it says allows operators to deploy a "cutting-edge" user interface without a complicated and costly change-out of their entire TV infrastructure.

ActiveVideo to Showcase Delivery of Two-Way VOD and Interactive TV over One-Way Networks at IBC

Cloud-based interactive TV specialist, ActiveVideo Networks, has unveiled its exhibit plans for its booth (3.B20) at the IBC in Amsterdam (September 9th-14th). According to the company--which says that its technology is now available in 5 million homes--its presence at the show will revolve around "two-way services that can immediately transform legacy one-way cable networks," and will be designed to demonstrate how its flagship CloudTV platform can use processing within the network to enable operators and service providers to offer differentiating interactive and on-demand services, without incurring the cost and service disruption of customer equipment and network upgrades.

Concurrent to Unveil "New Video Ecosystem" at IBC

--Company Reports Higher Revenues and Profits for its Fiscal Fourth Quarter

Concurrent, a company that specializes in VOD, media data and advanced advertising solutions, said Tuesday that it will use the IBC show in Amsterdam (booth 4.B74) to unveil a new "video ecosystem" which it bills as connecting media creation, publishing and delivery service companies with consumers via a unified video delivery and data collection platform that can tap into any screen. According to the company, the solution delivers TV-quality video to any device--including TV sets, tablet computers and smartphones--and allows key media-related metrics to be captured from each screen at a census level.

Accedo Broadband to Unveil Connected-TV Apps for TV Operators at IBC

Accedo Broadband--a Stockholm-based provider of interactive TV applications and content for IPTV and broadband-connected consumer electronics devices (note: the company, which was founded by telecom and media entrepreneurs, Michael Lantz and Fredrik Andersson, offers a range of applications, but is best known for its games)--said last week that it plans to unveil a range of applications that will enable TV operators to make their offering available over connected-TV/OTT devices, including Blu-ray players and HDTV sets.
