ExtendMedia Announces "TV Everywhere" Support for Mobile, Gaming and CE Platforms

Multiscreen video-management software solutions provider, ExtendMedia, on Tuesday announced that its flagship OpenCASE platform now supports multiple mobile, gaming and CE platforms. The company says that it is integrating the video delivery software platform with the five major operating systems for mobile devices--iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, Symbian and BlackBerry--and that it has also integrated the platform with the Sony PS3, Oregan Onyx-based set-top boxes and connected TV's, and the Yahoo! TV Widgets framework. According to ExtendMedia, delivering content to Internet-connected devices creates considerable challenges that only a purpose-built, multiscreen video delivery platform like OpenCASE can address.

ExtendMedia announced Tuesday the general availability of version 3.5 of its flagship "multi-screen video monetization" platform, OpenCASE, which it says was purpose-built to meet the needs of content creators and distributors seeking to build, deploy and manage unified video services across TV's, PC's and mobile devices. According to the company, OpenCASE 3.5 is designed to be platform-neutral; features out-of-the-box integration with leading ad servers, CDN's, DRM providers and encoding platforms; supports both paid and ad-supported business models; and can deliver streamed or downloadable content to multiple devices. The company says that enhancements offered by the new platform include:
