The [itvt] editorial team is currently traveling in the UK, and, because of time constraints, we are covering a number of this issue's news stories in round-up/summary form. We anticipate some additional interruption of our regular news publishing schedule in the coming days, so we apologize in advance for any inconvenience to our readers. Here is the round-up:

YouTube Experimenting with 3D Video

See video

YouTube--or at least one of its engineers--has begun experimenting with 3D video, according to a report in the blog, Search Engine Roundtable. The report is based on a thread in the YouTube Help forum, in which a YouTube engineer who goes by the moniker, YouTube Pete, writes that he is working on a "stereoscopic player as a 20% project" (note: Google engineers are encouraged to spend 20% of their work week--i.e. one day a week--on projects that interest them, a number of which--including AdSense, Gmail and Google News--have subsequently been launched as commercial products).
