It looks like Dish Network will remain the exclusive U.S. satellite distributor for Epix, as rival DirecTV says it won’t launch the premium channel and Website owned by Viacom.

Epix Taps ChoiceStream for EpixHD.com Movie Recommendations

Epix, a subscription-based multiplatform (linear, VOD, online) premium programming service which is a joint venture between Viacom, its Paramount Pictures arm, MGM and Lionsgate, said last week that it has tapped ChoiceStream to provide movie recommendations to users of its EpixHD.com service (note: the latter is available to authenticated customers of Cox, Mediacom, Charter and Verizon FiOS TV).

ClipSync Powers Online Social TV Event for Epix

Epix, a subscription-based multiplatform (linear, VOD, online) premium programming service which is a joint venture between Viacom, its Paramount Pictures arm, MGM and Lionsgate, on Wednesday announced plans to hold an online social TV event around a film of the Black Eyed Peas' sold-out concert tour, "The END World Tour 2010," on its EpixHD.com Web site.

Multiplatform Premium Programming Service, Epix, Secures Carriage Deal with DISH Network

--Says Deal Means Service Will Be Available to 30 Million Homes by Next Month

Epix, a subscription-based multiplatform (linear, VOD, online) premium programming service which is a joint venture between Viacom, its Paramount Pictures arm, MGM and Lionsgate and which has previously announced carriage deals with Verizon FiOS TV, Cox, Charter, Mediacom and the NCTC, said Monday that it has now secured a carriage deal with DISH Network, giving it access to an additional 14.1 million potential customers. The new deal, which will see Epix launching on DISH Network this month, is the service's first national distribution deal.

Avail-TVN in VOD Deal with Epix

--Epix Teams with USO to Provide Online Screening Rooms for US Military Personnel

Avail-TVN--the company formed last July from the merger of VOD distribution services provider, TVN Entertainment, and Avail Media, a provider of managed content-aggregation services for smaller IPTV operators (see the article published on itvt.com, July 15th)--announced last week that it has signed an industry-wide, long-term digital media services deal with existing customer, Epix, a multiplatform (linear, VOD, online) premium programming service which is a joint venture between Viacom, its Paramount Pictures arm, MGM and Lionsgate and which has to date announced carriage deals with Verizon FiOS TV, Cox and Mediacom.
