  • PBS Kids launched a series of interactive videos and games based on its "Super Why" and "Dinosaur Train" series. The "play-along" videos and games -- designed for preschoolers – challenge kids to complete tasks such as matching items of the correct size or finding the correct words to complete a sentence. PBS said it will also launch a play-along video for "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!" in 2012. More

[itvt]'s daily news coverage went on hiatus October 18th in order to allow our editorial staff to work full time on TVOT NYC Intensive. Entone Hires Former HP Executive to Head Up its Hybrid TV Efforts in the Americas

Broadband video and home connectivity solutions provider, Entone (note: the company recently announced a deal with OTT specialist, Vudu, to enable hybrid TV for telco operators--see the article published on itvt.com, March 19th), said Tuesday that it has hired Ameer Karim to lead its hybrid TV initiatives in the Americas. He will hold the title, VP of hybrid TV, Americas.

Entone Hires New Sales Executive

Broadband video and home connectivity solutions provider, Entone (note: the company recently announced a deal with OTT specialist, Vudu, to enable hybrid TV for telco operators--see the article published on itvt.com, March 19th), said last week that it has appointed Don Paige as director of sales to lead its efforts in North America, Southeastern Region.

Entone, Edgeware Partner on Integrated IPTV Solution

--Entone Integrates its Amulet and Hydra Products with Conklin-Intracom's fs/cdn IPTV Middleware

IPTV home-connectivity solutions provider, Entone, and Edgeware, a Stockholm-based provider of VOD server systems, announced Wednesday that Entone's IP video gateways and media hubs are now fully integrated with Edgeware's VOD servers. According to the companies, the integration will provide service providers with an efficient and cost-effective IPTV solution that can be quickly and easily deployed to enable such advanced services as time-shifted TV, VOD, whole-home DVR and online media services, using advanced codecs such as MPEG-4 (H.264/AVC). "Partnering with a world-class company like Edgeware further strengthens our presence in the market," Yves van Hecke, Entone's director of business development for the EMEA region, said in a prepared statement.
