Due to the volume of news generated by last week's Consumer Electronics Show, and because the [itvt] editorial team is busy working on The TV of Tomorrow Show (March 3rd-4th in San Francisco), we are covering a number of stories in this issue in summary form:

Dreamer Demo'ing Thin-Client Solution for Delivering Interactive TV/VOD Services via Blu-ray Players

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week (Booth 10045), Burbank, Calif.-based Blu-ray technology provider, Dreamer, plans to demo an Internet connectivity solution which it says transforms Blu-ray players (and other CE devices) into HD set-top boxes for delivering unlimited content and interactive services to the TV.

Dreamer to Present at JavaOne on Creating Private Interactive "Blu-ray-to-TV" Channels

Burbank, Calif.-based Blu-ray technology company, Dreamer, announced Tuesday that it will be presenting a session entitled "How to 'BluTube': Broadcasting over Broadband to a Blu-ray Player" (4:10PM, June 3rd, in the Moscone Center's North 124 conference room) at next month's JavaOne conference in San Francisco. According to the company, the session will focus on how to create and deploy private broadcasting channels that deliver audio, video and interactive applications to TV's, using Dreamer's Java-based "BIDDLE" technology for Blu-ray.
